Spring Radishes

from $7.00

I interplant these with the onions, leek, and scallions starts that I grow from seed in my unheated (except by the sun) hoophouse. These early spring beauties are the tastiest radish of the whole year. Both greens and roots are sweet, mild, and delicious raw or cooked. I’ve been eating them sauteed (tops and bottoms together) at least once a day. Also great mixed with scrambled eggs.

I have three types: Red Globe, Purple Globe and French Breakfast. The flavor is the same for all three. Which varieties you get will be the luck of the draw. If you buy more than you can eat in a week, separate the leaves from the roots and bag them up separately. The greens will last another week and the roots for another two weeks in the fridge.

2 bunches for $7; 4 bunches for $12 (save $2!)
